Installation Banquet

Thanks to everyone who helped out, especially Virginia Apperson for an exceptional feast

Steve Corbbit presented the medals then swore...in the new officers and board

MC Jerry Novack (left) and later in the show out comes George Burns (right)

John Apperson can't help but notice Dan Todd's new "Mental" hat

Steve Corbitt entertains the ladies, as no one else could ever do

Steve trusts young adults with scissors and Mike Niehause gets an earful

Even though Mathew Olsen had swollen eyes from the poison ivy on both arms, he brings the lights and sound system for everyone's show. Then Matt and his lovely assistant Amber perform a routine with three doves and multiplying mirror balls that turn to glitter at his command

Josh Roth gets everyone in the act and then swallows a real sword to the hilt

If you missed this, I hope you can make next years Installation Banquet.

April 22nd

Parlor Magic & Packet Tricks

Randy Kalin presided over the meeting and then preceded to learn everything about parlor magic and packet tricks...well a lot about some of them anyway.

John Apperson demonstrates two old favorites; Back Stage and production tray that ends with a fish bowl.

Van Dyke in his vest form demonstrated how he approaches a spectator, introduces himself, and initiates an effect all in one sentence. George is never up river without his paddles.

Erik Jacobson demonstrated the flexibility of a rope...or was it 3 ropes? (Fiber Optics)

Matt Olson brought in some DVDs of some of the most popular packet tricks of all time. Twisted Sisters with the Elmsley count, Ace Assembly and more. Some came with more gaffed cards than you might ever need.

Randy Kalin ended the night by demonstrated how he performs the Elmsley Count. The whole evening was well executed.

April 8th

Magic Video Night

Randy Kalin showed clips of a wide variety of performers highlighting some very top notch performances and describing what it was like to see them live.

Matt Olsen brought all of the A/V equipment and tweaked it as needed. The group's attention was riveted to the screen.  Randy had provided snacks and everyone had a great time. The discussions on the performances carried over to our after meeting restaurant time.

See you at the next meeting.
